Ever wondered how to pick colors for your logo which are a good match for your screen graphics or wanted to make a banner to match an on screen color but don’t know the exact shade?

You need Instant Eyedropper

What is Instant Eyedropper?

Instant Eyedropper is a FREE software tool for webmasters that will identify and automatically paste to the clipboard the HTML color code of any pixel on the screen with just a single mouse click. Its quick, its easy and you will never wonder how to pick colors again.

Save your time

Identification the color code of an object on the screen is usually an involved, multistep process: You press the Print Screen key to copy a screenshot to the clipboard, load a graphics-editing program, create a new file, paste the screenshot from the clipboard, zoom in on the object, use the “Pick Color” tool, and finally copy the HTML code of the color to the clipboard.

How to pick colors with a single click

Webmasters may repeat this operation many times a day. Just imagine how much time can be saved by using Instant Eyedropper to do the same thing With a Single Click!

How it works

Move the mouse pointer to the Instant Eyedropper icon in the system tray.

Press and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse pointer to the pixel whose color you want to identify.

Release the mouse button.

That’s it. The clipboard now contains the color code – in HTML format (or any other format that you have previously specified). It can be pasted and used in any text or HTML editor or the Color Picker tool of Photoshop.

Not only HTML colors either you can choose from these supported color formats:

HTML

HEX

Delphi Hex

Visual Basic Hex

RGB

HSB

Since I downloaded Instant Eyedropper (did I mention it was free!) how to pick colors or match them is no problem.

I wouldn’t want to be without it.

Its not fair! How would you like someone else to swipe and use photo’s that were of your own creation!

Resolve now not to upload photo’s and ideas to pinternet without giving credit to where they came from. You can still use Google images, just drag and drop images into the search field and it traces all the places that image has been used. hat might show you the original source and then you can give that source the full credit.

If all you do is just click and repin on pinterest, you’re really are missing out on half the fun.

Try making your own creations, creat your own images, find new ideas from your favorite websites and give them a spin before you pass them on. Pinning that new idea will keep Pinterest intersting for you and your readers.

Pin that recipe secret that your great aunt told you, she won’t mind, pin that lttle trick you have found that got you repinned more than your other pins, make Pinterest LIVE!

As you can see I created the graphics on these posts and while they are not great works of art they didn’t take long to do on Microsoft publisher. Almost all my pins are original and drawn from my own websites which are ‘all my own work’ They aren’t difficulat and they aren’t long, about 2 to 400 words in the main.

I will let you into a secret as well, everything I have ever posted including these Pinterest tips I read somewhere else, tried it out, found it worked and passed it on.

Anybody can do that so how about it?

Here is a resolution for you, resolve to pin 1 new idea for every 5 repins to help keep Pinterest fresh.

These Pinterest Tips will help you get the best result from your pinning

Pinterest Tips : Target your readers and make it easy for them

To keep the attention of a Pinterest reader you have to make it easy to navigate to the right place. That means when they click on your image they need to be taken to a page that is matching their expectations

So often I see a really interesting image and well written pin, click it to view the webpage and get take to a RSS feed or the front page of the website.

That means I have to do a lot of searching to find that interesting article they wanted me to see.

Following this post in the series Pinternet Tips ensures your readers get a good Pinterest experience. Always take the address of the post you are targeting from the address bar of the actual post itself make sure you’re pinning the right part of the website. of course if you are using the Pin It button and are on the actual web page you are pinning you can’t go wrong.

If you see something like “http://www.anthonyjbennett.com/” and the article you want to pin is not on the front page of that site you haven’t gone deep enough. Make sure there’s more after the slash, like this one…

Imagine you want to pin an article about my favorite green juice recipe you would need to use the page “http://anthonyjbennett.com/my-green-juice-recipe.php” which means you can pin this page and anyone who clicks on it will be brought right to the green juice recipe and not the front page of the site.

That is what they are expecting, they have had a good experience and if they enjoy the post they will be back for more.

These Pinterest Tips will help you get the best result from your pinning

Some Pinterest Tips are so simple but save so much time

Pinning is easy anyway but using the Pin It button it really does take seconds.

You are on a site and see something you want to pin so what do you do? – You could Open up Pinterest.com click on “Add” and then “Add a Pin” every time you find something new on the web OR…..

This is perhaps the simplist of the Pinterest tips but possibly the most time saving

Just go to the Pinterest Goodies page and just drag that Pin It button right up to your browsers toolbar.

To install in Google Chrome there a few other steps and that is clearly explained on the Pinterest goodies page

Once you have installed the Pin It button on your browser bookmarks toolbar all you have to do when you want to pin the site you have on screen is click on it and it lets you grab an image from any website and add it to one of your pinboards, you choose which.

When you pin from a website, Pinterest automatically grabs the source link so the original creator is credited, that is especially valuable if the website you are pinning from is your own!

I have my bookmarks toolbar all set up with my regularly used links so spreading the word to other social networks becomes easier too!

These Pinterest Tips will help you get the best result from your pinning

Many people complain that when they get new friends they then get showered with emails from Pinterest every time their pins get repinned. For myself I like getting these e mails, it gives me the opportunity to make see how effective my pins are are but if you would prefer not to get them you can edit your profile to turn them off. It’s your choice!

These Pinterest Tips will help you tailor your Pinterest experience.

You can turn which e mails you get on or off quite easily and see which pins of yours get repinned by viewing your pins page – http://www.pinterest.com/YOURUSERNAME/pins (mine is http://pinterest.com/tonybee/pins/ ) so turn those Pinterest emails off! ( If you want to!)

If you linked up Facebook with Pinterest then your first and last name are displayed on your Pinterest page and that that might be fine with you, it is for me, but what if you want to be anonymous?

You can change your first or last name easily from your settings page and change any other details you want to on the settings page.

Some more great Pinterest Tips are to add to your setting page…

your website URL

a suitable bio

a location

link your twitter page,

link your facebook page.

All of these details end up displayed on your main Pinterest page like mine . My personal website is shown as a link icon and my twitter and facebook pages are linked as well.

You know how annoying is it when you see multiple updates of the same pin on your Facebook feed. Linking Pinterest to Facebook does make it easy to find friends but multiple pinning of the same fascinating photo loses them even quicker.

You can avoid being that nuisance friend, the one who doesn’t realize they’re annoying everyone on Facebook when all you need to do is uncheck the right buttons.

1. Log into Pinterest and go to your Settings page. Use the settings shown above to link your Pinterest page to your Facebook page and select off for “Add Pinterest to Facebook timeline”

That will make your Facebook friends happier.

2. Now find something you want to repin – anything. When you see the popup above make sure the facebook or twitter boxes are unchecked.

Now you choose when and if to share your pin and your friends will thank you by keeping you on their list.

Blog promotion is not always easy ( passing thought – is it ever easy?) and you have to play every card.

One effective way of spreading the word about a new post is to tell other bloggers about it. When other bloggers recommend something you’ve written to people who trust them it is a powerful tool and should help you find new readers .

So how do you get other bloggers to pitch for you especially in the early days of a blog. You probably don’t have a high profile yet or an established relationship with the bloggers who you are pitching, it isn’t impossible though.

Here are a few Blog Promotion tips on how to pitch your posts to other blogs:

Be relevant - only pitch stories to other bloggers that have relevance to their blog. It will be a waste of their time and yours if your content is not what their readers want to read.

Only offer the best posts - your success rate at getting a link will depend on offering your best stuff and I mean the best – the top 1-2% of your portfolio.

Make it unique, – don’t just shoot the link over tell the blogger, briefly, what the story is about and why it is relevant to their blog. make sure they realize how the post might interest their readers.

Keep it short – if the blogger wants to know the details of your post they’ll click the link. Keep to the point, say what you need to say and then let it be.

Of course be polite – don’t make any assumptions or insist that they link to you just float the suggestion and let the blogger decide if it’s right for them.

Be direct and personal – use their name, quote their blog’s name and make sure they realize this is a personal offer and you are not spamming thousands of blogs with your email.

Here’s a few other blog promotion tips when you’re fishing for links other bloggers with links. I’m speaking here both as someone who occasionally lets others know about posts I’ve written but also as someone who gets my fair share of emails:

Check to see if they have written about it already - If you’re letting them have a red hot but they have posted about it already it’s not going to work for them – at least look at their site content before sending the email.

Don’t be surprised or offended if they don’t reply or use your link - some webmasters get dozens of ‘approaches like this every day. They can’t link to every one or even reply to every one – think of blog promotion as fly fishing, you may need to cast your line many times to get a bite.

Make sure your link is relevant and useful Send only strictly relevant stories out and to bloggers who have an interest in a specific niche.

Remember you may not be the first nor the only writer to offer this content

Introduce yourself . Blogging is about relationship and people like to link to people they know, they don’t know you so a brief introduction of who you are what you do and how that will help them is essential. Include a signature in your post with your contact details to help overcome this.

Keep it brief and keep it simple - Like you most people are busy and they don’t have time to wade through long emails, keep it short and to the point.

Be informative – give the purpose of the contact and a few words of what the story is up front. An email that says ‘check out this link’ doesn’t generate any interest, be brief but include something to stimulate curiousity

Give something to get something – if you help them make their blog interesting and save them work you will be more likely to get the result you’re after.

Be Generous with your own links - you have to give one to get one, so if you have mutliple sites give more than one!

Offer Original content – If you’re seeking a link to your own story you’ll have a much better chance of a link up if you offer original content. If all yopu offer is a link to someone else you’re much less likely to get linked to.

Learn from experience – You’ll soon learn who responds well to being notified and who doesn’t. You’ll learn about types of links people respond to and types they ignore. Take note and change tack to accomodate your new learning. If someone asks you to stop sending them links respect their request. If you find that a certain type of link gets lots of links – consider writing more of these and let more people know about them.

I’m sure there are other tips that would be of value, feel free to add your own tips on how to ask for links from other bloggers in comments below.

Blog Promotion is an essential skill, you have slaved over it, it says what you want it to say and at last it is ready for publication – but who is going to read it? No one – or very few, unless, that is. you find effective ways to promote it.

This series of posts charts the ways to promote your next blog and actually get it read!

As an example I am going to use a blog I have just put up on it is intended to call attention to Joey Atlas’s leg butt hip thigh and tummy makeover home exercise program. Joey is a world class womens trainer and I am an affiliate for his program. You can see the post here.

Blog promotion starts with SEO

On page SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a huge subject on its own so I am not covering it in this series. Of course makes sense to ensure that it is fully SEO checked for on page factors. SEO is difficult for popular keyword phrases and it makes sense to give it your best shot.

This article starts where many people finish. I did for many years and there are very many really interesting article tucked away in my many blogs which have been seen and appreciated by two or three people because I thought ‘If I write it they will read it!’ and I found out the hard way that it doesn’t work like that.

I don’t know how many articles there will be in the blog promotion series, as I write about ways to promote your next blog they will all be posted here.
