Blog promotion is not always easy ( passing thought – is it ever easy?) and you have to play every card.

One effective way of spreading the word about a new post is to tell other bloggers about it. When other bloggers recommend something you’ve written to people who trust them it is a powerful tool and should help you find new readers .

So how do you get other bloggers to pitch for you especially in the early days of a blog. You probably don’t have a high profile yet or an established relationship with the bloggers who you are pitching, it isn’t impossible though.

Here are a few Blog Promotion tips on how to pitch your posts to other blogs:

Be relevant - only pitch stories to other bloggers that have relevance to their blog. It will be a waste of their time and yours if your content is not what their readers want to read.

Only offer the best posts - your success rate at getting a link will depend on offering your best stuff and I mean the best – the top 1-2% of your portfolio.

Make it unique, – don’t just shoot the link over tell the blogger, briefly, what the story is about and why it is relevant to their blog. make sure they realize how the post might interest their readers.

Keep it short – if the blogger wants to know the details of your post they’ll click the link. Keep to the point, say what you need to say and then let it be.

Of course be polite – don’t make any assumptions or insist that they link to you just float the suggestion and let the blogger decide if it’s right for them.

Be direct and personal – use their name, quote their blog’s name and make sure they realize this is a personal offer and you are not spamming thousands of blogs with your email.

Here’s a few other blog promotion tips when you’re fishing for links other bloggers with links. I’m speaking here both as someone who occasionally lets others know about posts I’ve written but also as someone who gets my fair share of emails:

Check to see if they have written about it already - If you’re letting them have a red hot but they have posted about it already it’s not going to work for them – at least look at their site content before sending the email.

Don’t be surprised or offended if they don’t reply or use your link - some webmasters get dozens of ‘approaches like this every day. They can’t link to every one or even reply to every one – think of blog promotion as fly fishing, you may need to cast your line many times to get a bite.

Make sure your link is relevant and useful Send only strictly relevant stories out and to bloggers who have an interest in a specific niche.

Remember you may not be the first nor the only writer to offer this content

Introduce yourself . Blogging is about relationship and people like to link to people they know, they don’t know you so a brief introduction of who you are what you do and how that will help them is essential. Include a signature in your post with your contact details to help overcome this.

Keep it brief and keep it simple - Like you most people are busy and they don’t have time to wade through long emails, keep it short and to the point.

Be informative – give the purpose of the contact and a few words of what the story is up front. An email that says ‘check out this link’ doesn’t generate any interest, be brief but include something to stimulate curiousity

Give something to get something – if you help them make their blog interesting and save them work you will be more likely to get the result you’re after.

Be Generous with your own links - you have to give one to get one, so if you have mutliple sites give more than one!

Offer Original content – If you’re seeking a link to your own story you’ll have a much better chance of a link up if you offer original content. If all yopu offer is a link to someone else you’re much less likely to get linked to.

Learn from experience – You’ll soon learn who responds well to being notified and who doesn’t. You’ll learn about types of links people respond to and types they ignore. Take note and change tack to accomodate your new learning. If someone asks you to stop sending them links respect their request. If you find that a certain type of link gets lots of links – consider writing more of these and let more people know about them.

I’m sure there are other tips that would be of value, feel free to add your own tips on how to ask for links from other bloggers in comments below.

Blog Promotion is an essential skill, you have slaved over it, it says what you want it to say and at last it is ready for publication – but who is going to read it? No one – or very few, unless, that is. you find effective ways to promote it.

This series of posts charts the ways to promote your next blog and actually get it read!

As an example I am going to use a blog I have just put up on it is intended to call attention to Joey Atlas’s leg butt hip thigh and tummy makeover home exercise program. Joey is a world class womens trainer and I am an affiliate for his program. You can see the post here.

Blog promotion starts with SEO

On page SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a huge subject on its own so I am not covering it in this series. Of course makes sense to ensure that it is fully SEO checked for on page factors. SEO is difficult for popular keyword phrases and it makes sense to give it your best shot.

This article starts where many people finish. I did for many years and there are very many really interesting article tucked away in my many blogs which have been seen and appreciated by two or three people because I thought ‘If I write it they will read it!’ and I found out the hard way that it doesn’t work like that.

I don’t know how many articles there will be in the blog promotion series, as I write about ways to promote your next blog they will all be posted here.

What is an Infographic apart from being one of the latest buzzwords in Internet marketing,
Well here is an example and its is, appropriately enough, about the words we use when we are talking shop.

Knowing the right lingo makes you far more credible. Even as a newbie you can dazzle newcomers with TLA’s (Three letter Acronyms) pie charts and spreadsheets.

So what is an Infographic then?

I asked the question via a Google search and got the fantastically clear example reprinted above – thank you for that you good people at www.hasoffers/blog/ it made things crystal clear.

For everything we write and everything we do there are at least 3 alternative names and often 5 or 6!

What is an Infographic and what is not an Infographic

The core of any infographic is composed of 3 very important parts.

Visual
Color Coding
Graphics
Reference Icons
Content
Time Frames
Statistics
References
Knowledge
Facts
Deductions

At its simplest an Infographic barely skims the detail. It comprises visual which more often than not common throughout the design. It has a little content to inform the visual and relies on these two basics to impart knowledge.

Color coding becomes is essential in this type because highlighting content via color is the principle way of relaying information.

What is an Infographic Not – It is not overly complex.

A more advanced infographic encompasses all 3 core parts of the design but goes a bit deeper. It uses logos and icons to condense and compact a lot of data into a visual form. Color coding is vital in this type of infographics as visually separating content with color becomes key to effectively relay information.

A really effective infographic not only includes factual data, but makes additional references and uses statistics very regularly. There may be other snippets of data included as notes. As the amount of data increases and the design goes 2 levels deep, it becomes vital to utilize any and all the graphical resources available in the form of icons, image holders, shapes, groupings, color and time frames.

Ultimately an infographic can be as simple or as complicated as you make it but a good infographic doesn’t confuse the reader, it illuminate what would otherwise take many words to explain.

If you just put yourself in the shoes of the viewer your infographics will be simple but brilliant so have ago and design one for yourself!

Choosing the best wordpress theme for your Blog

I have 40+ active web sites, all but one of them is on WordPress and I only use two Theme methods.

Thesis 1.8.2 for all my hosted blogs – in my view and the view of most professionals the best wordpress theme

Instant Niche Maker for my information Blogs more about that here

Thesis 1.8.2 is the best wordpress theme

Simple to Design

Many, if not most websites are NOT designed from scratch these days; they don’t need to be when there are fantastic search friendly platforms like WordPress and easy-peasy themes of which Thesis is King. For ease of use and flexibility I wouldn’t look anywhere else.

I am no techie and I can manage Thesis easily, my sites are attractive if basic but if you want more Thesis can do it, thesis is powerful. It has a remarkably efficient HTML
+
CSS
+
PHP framework whatever that means with easy-to-use controls to fine-tune every page of your site to be just the way you want it.

Designed by me in Thesis

The days of fretting over your in-site SEO are over—with Thesis, all you have to do is get your keywords right and “just add killer content.” You DO NOT need to be a coder to get a great looking, search friendly site.

DIYthemes, intended to build the best wordpress theme and they did, they provided simple tools to build the best websites on the planet, and they achieved just that.

So what are the advantages of Thesis over other themes?

There are more than a thousand free themes now available in the WordPress directory, some of these are really beautiful and each one offers features and functions to make some really nice websites. So why would you want pay for a theme when there are such good looking freebies out there? Well, actually, there are a number reasons.

You can customise the way it looks – easily!
Yes free themes can and often do look great out of the box but start using them and most people find that they still want to change them in some way. Many free themes need you to go into the core code files, which I and most non-techies would run a mile from. Thesis gives you heaps of customization options and it’s easy to use. You can change font colors and sizes, choose between 1-, 2-, and 3-column layouts, build dynamic dropdown menus, and add multimedia content without ever touching the source files.

Even major changes can be simple

Even using Thesis, you may want to change your site in some way that the front end isn’t designed for. No problem. With other themes, you usually have to go into file manage and ftp to find the right file and if you are me you stand a good chance of screwing up. With Thesis, you don’t even go there, instead, you have 2 custom file, one for putting CSS code to style the page and one for writing PHP code to add content and functionality to your site. Don’t let that Jargon put you off it really is easy.

Thesis isn’t just for now it’s for life

Another major benefit is that when a new version is released in the future, you won’t end up overwriting all the wonderful stuff you’ve created. You simply add your two existing custom files to the upgrade and everything continues to work the same.

So eBay Partner Network rejected you. They are pretty fussy!

Have you got a niche website and tried to sign up with eBay Partner Network but been rejected?

Don’t despair – the trick is to get accepted for one site and after that it’s plain sailing. Each account is approved or disapproved by a real live person and since niche sites are fairly equivalent, a lot of it is based on the options you choose when applying.

If you haven’t even applied to eBay Partner Network yet you can start here

Go to www.ebaypartnernetwork.com to sign up. Read the Term and Conditions and check all the applicable boxes. Even if you don’t plan on using Half.com check that box, eBay will love better for doing that.

Click “Continue”

Accurately fill in all the information on the form. Be careful, eBay will use this information to send your payments.

In the section asking for your primary business model, select “Natural Search/Website.”

Your business description is “Blogging.”

In Website URL, enter your website or blog URL, make sure it is setup and active.

Check that all the information is correct then submit and wait for approval. This takes up to 48 business hours. If you are approved, you will get an e mail and you can start using the great tools ePN provides, link generator, creatives generator, and great widgets that you can use on your website.

eBay Partner Network disapproved you? This is what you do:

Make a NEW Niche Site, don’t try to get the old one approved, time for that later.

Put it on it’s own domain, not a sub domain. It shows you really are serious and committed this website.

Complete the site – eBay Partner Network don’t sign up sites ‘under development’

Add at LEAST 10 Blog posts. This is the case where more is better! They should be

Dated between 1 – 3 days apart

At least 300 words long.

Back dated to make your site look older!

Its BEST if you wrote these posts yourself but they can be articles you’ve found at sites like EzineArticles Article City, GO Articles you can ‘spin’ these if you have an Article Spinner

You could even do some product reviews. You can search for latest news that fits the niche and rewrite as a post.

Just make sure you have good content BEFORE you apply this time!

You need a new email address, on no account use the one you used last time and as you have a new domain set up the email on that.

If you already have put Adsense on the site remove your “Adsense Pub ID”. Once you hear back from ePN, you can reactivate it. The impression that ePN should get is that you are building a site to share quality information, not just make money.

Then re apply following the procedure above making sure you use your NEW email address and NEW domain. Once you get approved for your first site, it should be easier for the next ones.

If they still don’t want you relax! Remember that eBay Partner Network is just one option. If you are having problems getting accepted by ePN, don’t worry. Give your niche site a little time to get established and grow and there are many more ways to monetize your site.

Geotargeting is a real hassle for an internet marketer who is not resident in the market being targeted. You want to be offered and to see the pages your target market are being offered. I am in the UK but most of my satisfied customers are in America but they won’t let me see it because my offers are not available in my region

Geotargeting is no problem now with HYA

There is no doubt that Hide my Ass is the leading online privacy website, it gives you your own VPN and does what it says … it hides your IP address and re routes it via the country of your choice.

Your own choice of VPN’s in fact 16+ server locations and 5000+ IP addresses

Now I don’t know why you want to do that, I am sure there are a lot of reasons that some would want to but I subscribe because I am an Affiliate Marketer living in the UK and targeting USA offers. Geotargeting blocks used to be so frustrating that I couldn’t see the offers I was promoting on my screen, now I see them and know what my customers are seeing.

For me, and any Affiliate Marketer outside of the market they want to target, Hide My Ass is essential it gets you past those irritating geotargeting systems which stops you seeing what your buyers will see.

Have you thought how you could use a VPN service?

Apart from Geotargeting there a many other benefits.

Using Torrents? If you are concerned about piracy and the perhaps getting cut off when you download a torrent, with this program you can get around that. Your own IP address is masked so and your own ISP can’t tell what you are doing because all traffic between you and the VPN is encrypted.

Do you watch stuff on HULU.com or NBC.com but get geotargeted out because you are outside USA? Hide My Ass will connect you to the URL of your choice where a proxy fails. Hulu.com. NBC, Yahoo and most TV services all work through Hide My Ass. That alone may be worth the tiny fee to you plus you are not ‘pirating’ so you can watch your favourite shows legally online.

Other reasons – I can only wonder! but as an Internet Marketer I can tell you I couldn’t be without it check it out here.

Do you do Twitter social media marketing? Thousands do and I expect you are aware already that you have to stand above the crowd to be successful.
Listen to this article read by Tony Bennett

Maybe like me you have been looking for that illusive push button formula that will stuff money into your bank account while you sleep, enjoy family life or lie on the beach. Well at last it is here.

I have found the ideal Twitter social media marketing formula

It isn’t any clever dark secret and you do have to do a little work to set it up of course, but it doesn’t cost a fortune. You can get started Twitter social media marketing for under $60 with no recurring costs (You might want to make it even easier with a monthly subscription to another helpful program later and even that is under $10). You can market to LinkedIn and Facebook at the same time as twitter – fully automatic.

Where can you find this ellusive dream? Right here .

Social media has only been with us for a few years but already it has changed the way we relate to the world. The iPhone is currently changing it even more and together they open up the world as marketplace from your back bedroom.

What am I talking about?

I am talking about a book and some software which together make Twitter into the cheapest and most powerful marketing tool you can imagine.

Getting going on Twitter social media marketing can seem like a huge mountain to climb. Oh it’s easy enough to open an account and contact a few friends but how to turn that trickle into a profitable Twitter social media marketing business without it dominating your life.

The secrets are setting up your accounts correctly and automate, automate, automate.

I got up this morning quite early, about an hour before my wife likes to rise and I didn’t want to wake her so I crept into my study, closed the door and opened up TweetAdder. I have four businesses on TweetAdder at the moment, my personal blog http://anthonyjbennett.com, my dating business http://bestonlinedatingsites4u.com , my Gold Opportunity business http://zengoldpartners.co/gold and my smoking cessation business http://stopsmokingcd.org . I will be adding more, as many as I like!

When I opened up the software this morning there was the first big advantage TweetAdder had added 45 new followers to my accounts overnight, building my business while I slept. What is more these aren’t just any old followers they are targeted followers, people I asked it to find and who, in the last 24 hours have tweeted about them. Interested people. Buyers.

The other powerful ways I can use are to instruct the program to search for suitable people to follow, by location, profile data, followers of a particular user, people who are being followed by a user or twitter lists. There are certainly no shortages of people to follow, all you need to do is work out where to find them, set the controls and your ‘To Follow’ list will never run dry.

Your list will be up to date and, because you can tell TweetAdder to do so it will Unfollow people who do not follow you! No wasted space! Everyone you follow a potential customer using your choice of keywords.

To succeed in Twitter social media marketing automate everything. You can automate follow back, tweets, it even has a tweet spinner so you can ‘freshen’ your message so that it doesn’t look too repetitive and your “Thank you for following” message of course.

So all of this was happening last night while I slept and it still is as I write this article record it and put it on my blog http://internetmarketingvirgin.com .

I recorded this script on the free program Audacity converted it to MP3 on the free sound converter program at NCH and posted it as an MP3 on TweetAdder! Just think of the marketing possibilities of that!

I promote TweetAdder because it works,

it has free unlimited software update and support

simple, user friendly interface and experience

I can put multiple businesses on it and on autopilot!

I can put it on up to three computers.

Check Out This Product You will love it as I do.

The book you need is the definitive best selling Twitter Power 2.0 by Joel Comm and the software is TweetAdder
