Truth is Internet Marketing Is Simple

It is true, internet Marketing is a lot of very simple things which need to be done and in a special order – the trouble comes when we try to make it complicated or ‘imagine’ that there is some alchemy, some small technique that will turn base metal into gold.
If you set up your stall as an internet marketer you are a trader, a shopkeeper and things on the net are not that different from the day to day world of retailing.  Many ‘Guru’s’ make it sound more complicated than it is because it is in their interests to do so.  Like all ‘experts’ they develop jargon – unusual words for what are often simple procedures – and build up a mystique around their ‘art’.  ‘You don’t know what they know’ they say and they want to make money out of teaching you.  Well so do I, but here is the difference, I work on the K.I.S.S principle ‘Keep It Simple Stupid’.  I proceed one logical step at a time.

It isn’t rocket science or brain surgery but nevertheless 95% of those who are attracted to marketing on line fail to make any money at all and in the past I have been one of those. I can pass on that experience to you and if you use it well it will save you a lot of time, confusion and heartache along the way, not to mention save you wasting a ton of money.

These are the only 5 ’secrets’ to get started and I give them to you for free
1.    Internet marketing is about selling people what they want to buy on line not what you want to sell them.
2.    To find out what people will buy you need to do some simple research.  All the answers are available on the net with a lot of time consuming research but there are some ’short cuts’ available by buying research tools developed to find what sells well and who buys it.
3.    When you decide what to sell you will need to find the most effective way to offer it to the buyers.  You don’t need expensive websites or to be a technical nerd but you do to know some basic facts about what works and what doesn’t.
4.    You are not going to be a rival to Bill Gates any time soon, like anything else you have to learn your trade. Guru’s offering the ‘wonder formula’ to make you an overnight millionaire are lying. You can do very ‘nicely thank you’ quite quickly with work, application and perseverance plus of course making the right choices along the way but progress is made, as with any other field of life, by finding out  what you need to know and applying it.
5.    It should be fun! To begin with you will be spending a number of hours in front of a monitor learning your stuff.  It would be nice to find product and services that really interest you but actually that can be a distraction too!  Always remember you are selling what people want to  buy and that might not always be fun.  One of my best products is colon cleansing and I can’t say that switches me on.
What is fun for me is the ‘process’.  Some people enjoy crosswords, my wife Bee likes Sudoku and I can’t stand either of those but Internet Marketing, that is a puzzle worth working on.

If you like a mental challenge and are determined make it work (and to make it pay!) this is the puzzle for you.
Of course it may be enjoyable, it may be exciting, it may be stimulating but always remember it is a business and the purpose of business is profit; a business that doesn’t make a profit is called a ‘hobby’ and that’s ok too if that is what you want.
